Royal Roads University
I am very grateful to have represented the Division at the National Indigenous Peoples Day hosted by Royal Road University. I am standing beside the Victoria Native Friendship Centre (VNFC) Tipi where teachings from the Elders were shared throughout the day. The VNFC also hosts an Elders and Seniors space where people can rest, have a drink, snack and visit. It represents the vision of reconciliation. My husband Robert and I assisted in this space for the day. My gratitude for doing this work on behalf of the team!

Salt Spring Island
This past weekend, Salt Spring Island was transformed by three days of deep listening, joyful celebration and cultural resurgence as the second annual Indigenous Peoples Weekend returned to the Southern Gulf Islands. With events unfolding across Salt Spring Island, the gathering offered both honour and momentum for Indigenous sovereignty, art and presence on these unceded traditional lands.
