Capital Bike Truth & Reconciliation Ride

Every Day is a Day for Truth. Every Day is a Day for Action.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation invites us to honour Survivors, remember the children who never came home, and reflect on the ongoing journey toward reconciliation. While September 30 is a nationally recognized day of remembrance, reconciliation is not a destination, it is a path we choose to walk together through learning, relationship, and action.
This year, our community offers meaningful ways to take that journey.

For those looking to begin the day in reflection and movement, Capital Bike’s Truth & Reconciliation Ride brings riders together in a shared act of remembrance and solidarity. The annual ride offers space to connect with community while recognizing the significance of the day, reminding us that reconciliation is something we move toward together.

Join us on September 30th, for the 6th Annual Truth & Reconciliation Day Ride.
This year, we’re starting the ride earlier than in previous years so everyone can arrive at the South Island Powwow with plenty of time to park their bike at the Bike Valet before the Powwow begins at noon.

We encourage everyone joining the ride to wear an orange shirt in recognition of the day.
8:30 AM – Check-in opens at Songhees Park
9:00 AM – Opening program
10:00 AM – Ride departs with police escort
11:00 AM – Arrive at Crystal Pool Tennis Courts & Bike Valet
12:00 PM – South Island Powwow begins
We highly recommend using the free Bike Valet before heading into the event.
