The Net and Paddle Experience: An Indigenous Cultural Safety Workshop

The Net and Paddle Experience, offered January 16th in Victoria, is an embodied and participatory learning experience about truth, reconciliation, and
reconcili-action. This one-day offering creates a healing container to explore colonialism and resilience through the stories of First Nations Elders, Alex and Nella Nelson.

Date: Friday, January 16, 2026

Time: 8:30am-5pm

Cost: $149-349 (Sliding Scale)

Location: 111 Superior St., Victoria (Church of Truth)

Through this workshop participants will learn about colonialism as a system, and about the systems transformation that’s needed to achieve reconciliation and decolonization. The workshop deals with difficult truths, and at the end, will leave participants hopeful, empowered, and inspired with actionable next steps to creating positive change in themselves and their communities.
