The Family Practice Services Committee (FPSC) has been working to expand the After Hours Care (AHC) pilot program, following positive impacts on physicians, patients, and communities.

As of October 1, 2026, the Ministry of Health will no longer provide funding for the program or infrastructure to deliver it through HealthLinkBC.

FPSC continues to see the value of this program and its positive impact—for patients, physicians, and our health care system overall — and is working to develop a provincial solution for after-hours coverage.
