The BC Nurses’ Union (BCNU) began job action at 12:01 p.m. Thursday, July 2. At this time, the union states they will be banning non-nursing duties and restricting overtime.

As the situation continues to evolve, SIDFP is working closely with Island Health to:

• Understand the anticipated impacts on PCN clinics
• Confirm whether and how RN staffing may be affected

Island Health is expected to communicate directly with any clinics that are impacted, particularly if service adjustments are required. We have also requested copies of any communications they share so we can ensure consistency and keep all clinics informed.
