Access Central provides same-day assessment and connection to substance use care, including OAT, withdrawal management (detox), counselling, treatment programs, and funded non-emergency medical transportation for individuals facing travel barriers in accessing care. Access Central and the Virtual Substance Use Service now serve as the first point of contact for individuals seeking substance use services across Island Health.

Anyone in the Island Health region can call Access Central at 1-888-885-8824 daily from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Voicemails are responded to within 24 hours.
