Medical Imaging Appointments Now Managed with Text and Email Notifications

Mar 3, 2026

Patients now receive and confirm outpatient medical imaging appointment notifications via text or email.

Starting February 23 in the North and Central Island, and March 3 in the South Island, patients enrolled in the MyHealth patient portal will receive their appointment information by text and email instead of through an automated phone call.

Patients who are not registered for MyHealth will continue to receive notifications by telephone. If a patient can’t be reached by telephone after three attempts, the appointment request will be returned to their healthcare provider for follow-up.

MyHealth is a free, secure online portal that gives patients convenient, 24/7 access to their personal health information collected at Island Health facilities, from anywhere with an internet connection. To enroll in MyHealth, visit www.islandhealth.ca/myhealth.
