The Province has introduced a telephone-based Opioid Treatment Access Line to streamline access to life-saving medication for opioid-use disorder and facilitate same-day care.
Individuals seeking assistance with opioid addiction can contact 1-833-804-8111 (available Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 4 PM) to receive immediate support from a specialized team of doctors and nurses. This team is equipped to prescribe critical opioid agonist medications. Additionally, callers will be referred to regional healthcare teams for ongoing treatment and support within their community. This service is confidential, and treatment costs are covered under BC PharmaCare.
