Recent results from the Mayo Clinic’s Physician Well-Being Index offer some encouraging news: among VDFP and SIDFP members who completed the check-in more than once, the proportion experiencing distress decreased from 30% to 19% across three check-ins between February 2025 and September 2026, while the proportion thriving increased. Although there may be many reasons why, these local results and Mayo Clinic’s own research results demonstrate the value of checking in over time.
The confidential, one-minute Well-Being Index can help you see how your well-being is changing, reflect on areas that may need attention, and connect with relevant resources and supports.
The broader picture shows that physician well-being remains a key concern. In September 2026, nearly half of participating VDFP and SIDFP members were experiencing some degree of struggle or distress. Whether you have used the Index before or this is your first time, consider taking a minute to check in with yourself today.
