Island Health has teamed up with BC Emergency Health Services to create a new pathway for patients who don’t require emergency care but still need medical attention. The newly introducted Link and Referral Units (LARUs) consist of single paramedics in minivans, specializing in assessing and treating 911 patients with non-urgent conditions.
