Welcome, Alexis Moore, New Indigenous Program Lead!

May 6, 2026

We’re happy to welcome Alexis Moore, our new Indigenous Program Lead, to the Division.

Alexis joined the team March 23rd, with a history of Management in Housing and Program Coordination and Support at the Victoria Native Friendship Centre.

Alexis has shared that her passion for equitable healthcare and access has brought her to this new role, and we look forward to adding her experience and perspective to our work.

In Alexis’ own words:

“I’m stepping into the Indigenous Program Lead role, bringing with me about five years of community-based work with the Victoria Native Friendship Centre. I found my place at VNFC during a time when I was really craving community and connection to culture, feeling quite far from my home community on the north coast in Prince Rupert, after my partner and I moved to Lekwungen territory in 2018 for his work.

I am a proud member of the Ts’msyen Nation, Gitga’at on my grandmother’s side, of the matrilineal Gisbutwada (Killerwhale) clan; Metlakatla, where I hold status through my grandmother’s marriage into the community, a reflection of a time when women followed their husbands’ communities; and I hold Nisga’a citizenship on my late father’s side.

I’m really looking forward to this new chapter, settling into this incredible team, and showing up for the membership we serve in the SIDFP in meaningful and thoughtful ways.”

Please join us in welcoming Alexis to the team!
